Sugaring Off Season

AT SUCRERIE DE LA MONTAGNE

Available in February, March and April only

During the week or on weekends, Sucrerie de la Montagne lets you experience real Québec traditions. Here, the maple syrup is produced the old-fashioned way: the tree is tapped with a spout, the sap collected in a pail and transported to a traditional wood-fired evaporator, where it is transformed into maple syrup.

At Sucrerie de la Montagne, sugaring off time includes…

A ride in a horse-drawn sleigh or wagon (minimum of 40 people required)

Live music by our singer-musicians. Bring your friends and relatives to sing and dance the night away (minimum of 40 people required)

Maple taffy tasting on snow is available during the sugar season (February, March and April) and as an extra for groups out of season.

A visit to the general store where you can purchase a full range of maple products: syrup, butter, taffy and other maple treats. The store also offers a variety of handicrafts.

Mountain dweller’s pea soup, farm-style crusty bread, maple-smoked ham, wood-fired baked beans, farm-style omelette soufflé, country-style sausages, traditional meatball stew, grilled salt pork, old-style mashed potatoes, meat pie from Québec’s Beauce region, homemade fruit ketchup & pickles. For dessert: sugar pie, pancakes with maple syrup, tea and coffee.
