Holidays 2011
A real old-time Christmas!
Sucrerie de la Montagne invites you to experience authentic Québécois Holiday celebrations. We’ll transport you back to the days of country-style festive gatherings. You’ll enjoy traditional activities like a horse-drawn sleigh ride and savour holiday recipes handed down by our grandmothers … and every bit as delicious today. All in an atmosphere that faithfully re-creates Québec folkloric traditions!
The holiday season at Sucrerie de la Montagne is…
- Ride in a sleigh or wagon pulled by our Belgian horses (minimum 25 people);
- A traditional all-you-can-eat Christmas feast served at tables: Soupe à l’orge du moissonneur (harvester’s barley soup), Pain croûté de la Paysanne (farm-style crusty bread), Tourtière de la beauceronne (meat pie from Québec’s Beauce region), Dinde au beurre glacée à l’érable (maple-glazed butter turkey), ragoût de boulettes (traditional meatball stew), fèves au lard de chantier (wood-fired baked beans), Carottes glacées à l’érable (maple-glazed carrots), pommes de terre pilées à l'ancienne (old-style mashed potatoes), cranberry sauce and pickles. Dessert: Traditional sugar pie, golden pancakes, tea, coffee.
- Live music by our singer-musicians (minimum 25 people). Bring your friends and relatives to sing and dance the night away!
